Designed by Inessa Garder for a private client in Novosibirsk, this single-family house responds to the Siberian climate while remaining open to daylight and views of its surroundings. The architectural concept balances thermal protection with spatial freedom.
The ground floor is organised around a shared living, dining and fireplace space. A double-height volume brings natural light and visual depth to the interior while retaining the compact plan and clear functional organisation suited to the region’s climate.
Private rooms on the upper level maintain visual connections with the shared space without compromising privacy. The arrangement supports different patterns of use through the day and across the seasons, linking the house as a coherent spatial system.
Clear geometry and a restrained silhouette define the building. Natural materials, shingle cladding and a neutral palette support warmth, durability and tactile comfort. The project brings together climate, family life and spatial experience, with author supervision by Inessa Garder.
