Residential architecture

MMV-1 — Moscow Modular Villa

MMV-1 explores modular residential architecture as a spatial and cultural system. Conceived as a private villa for a client in Moscow, the project considers how prefabricated construction can support adaptability, spatial fluidity and a refined domestic experience.

Modules act as compositional elements that define proportions, circulation and visual relationships. The house remains legible as a single volume while accommodating different modes of living. An open, double-height living area faces the landscape, while a more introverted studio supports focused work and small gatherings.

The organisation of planes and volumes draws on the spatial logic of El Lissitzky’s Proun works. Solids and voids create depth and movement, translating an abstract compositional reference into architectural space.

Timber surfaces, large glazed openings and a limited interior palette reinforce the relationship between the house and its environment. Modular construction becomes a framework for rhythm, adaptability and architectural expression.
